How does BBL work?
The mechanism of action of Sciton BBL involves using advanced light energy to target specific chromophores in the skin, like melanin and hemoglobin. The broad spectrum of light emitted by the device allows for the selective absorption of this energy by the targeted chromophores.
The light and heat energy effectively target unwanted melanin or pigment in the skin. The pigment that is targeted will turn darker, and then will slough away. This energy also works to target and constrict blood vessels, which is beneficial for addressing vascular concerns like rosacea and facial redness.
How many sessions do I need?
For BBL: Forever Young and BBL: Corrective, 3 sessions are alway recommended. After 3, we will assess your skin and goals. Maintenance sessions can be needed.
BBL: Forever Clear results are best seen after 6 sessions, although clients have reported seeing improvement in their acne after their first 2 sessions. Again, maintenance sessions may be needed after your initial series.
Does it hurt?
BBL treatments are not painful! There is no numbing needed. There is a cool sensation, due to the contact cooling, and you can also feel a 'snapping' sensation as the device pulses. At most, it may be slightly uncomfortable- but not painful.
How long are appointments?
BBL treatments are usually 30mins in length, making it a quick and extremely effective treatment!
