How Laser Hair Removal Works
The GentleMax Pro works by thermally damaging the hair follicle, resulting in a permanent reduction of hair growth. The laser is either attracted to the melanin in the hair, photo-selectively targeting the hair follicle with thermal energy; or, thermal energy is delivered directly to the dermis, retarding hair growth. Whilst the hair follicle experiences thermal damage, the surrounding tissue is unaffected.

After 1-2 weeks the treated hair simply falls out. At approximately 6 weeks the next cycle of hair becomes apparent. This new hair growth is substantially less, with fewer follicles present, and a thinner and softer re-growth than before. Subsequent treatments compound this result, permanently reducing hair growth.
